UP TO THE LAST FIBER
The boundaries of optical data transmission are steadily enhancing. At the same time the requirements for optical interface components are increasing. Therefore, ever increasing intensities are transferred into optical fibers in the future.
For several years, the Bayerisches Laserzentrum has been successfully engaged in design as well as prototype and small-scale production of fiber-optical systems and components. The focus lies on the development of free space coupling systems which are used for the coupling of light into several parallel fiber optics and for the transmission of light between parallel fiber arrays, so-called fiber-collimator-arrays, respectively. These systems allow a simpler coupling of light into the fibers and a maximization of the coupling efficiency, which resulted in the development of high-end systems with a low insertion loss and a high reflection loss. High-precision fiber collimators are applied, for example in optical data transfer which are customer-specifically developed and manufactured at the Bayerisches Laserzentrum.
